Medical History
The Medical History feature in is a comprehensive tool designed to record and manage various aspects of a patient's health history. Here’s how to navigate and utilize the Medical History section within a patient's file.
Accessing Medical History
- Open a Patient's File: Start by selecting a patient in the Patients app to view their profile.
- Locate Medical History: Scroll down until you find the “Add Medical History” button. This section is dedicated to storing and updating the patient's medical history records.
Adding Medical History
Upon clicking the “Add Medical History” button, you’re presented with five options to choose from, each covering a critical aspect of medical history:
- Family History: Records related to health issues or conditions present in the patient's family that may affect the patient's health risk profile.
- Immunizations and Allergies: Documentation of any vaccinations the patient has received and any known allergies, critical for preventive healthcare and avoiding allergic reactions.
- Lab and Test Results: A place to store outcomes of various medical tests and laboratory results, providing a timeline of investigations and findings.
- Medications: Details about current and past medications, including dosages and duration, essential for medication management and reviewing patient compliance.
- Vitals: Records of basic vital signs over time, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc., important for monitoring the patient's general health status.
Reviewing Medical History
- Previous Records: Any existing medical history records will be displayed just under the “Add Medical History” button. This allows for quick access to important health information.
- Expanding Entries for Detail: Each card representing a different aspect of the medical history can be clicked to expand, revealing more detailed entries. This feature is crucial for healthcare providers looking for in-depth information on specific health aspects.
