Getting Claims Status
In the complex world of healthcare billing, staying updated on the status of submitted claims is essentia. We simplify this process by automatically streaming claim status reports from payers. Additionally, users can manually request updates.
Automatic Status Updates
Upon submitting a claim through Popularis, the platform automatically retrieves status updates from the payer. We get EOB, 835, 277, and SF messages from the payers.
Manual Status Requests
For times when you need to proactively check the status of a claim or when automatic updates haven't provided the detail you need, Popularis offers manual status request options.
From the Patients App
- Access the Patient's File: Navigate to the patient whose claim status you want to check.
- Claims Card: Within the patient's file, locate the claims card. This card displays a brief overview of each claim associated with the patient.
- Request Status: Click the claim status button. This action triggers an inquiry to the payer for the latest status report.
From the Claims Popup View
- Open Claims Popup: This detailed view is accessible by selecting a specific claim, either from the patient's file or within the Claims app.
- Request Status: Within the popup, click the Check Claim Status button to request status on a claim from a payer.
- View Previous Requests: The claims popup also allows you to view all previous status requests for the claim. You can expand upon each request to view more details, providing a comprehensive history of the claim's progress.
Batch Claims Status
When dealing with multiple claims sent as part of a batch, tracking each claim's status individually can be time-consuming.
- Run Claim Status on Batch: For a consolidated status update, click the "Run Claim Status on Batch" button located at the top left of the batch popup. This function will automatically request and update the status for each claim within the batch. You can view the results in each patient’s file.
Best Practices
- Stay Proactive: Regularly check claim statuses, both automatically and manually, to stay ahead of any issues or delays.
- Use Batch Status Updates: When managing multiple claims, leverage the batch status update feature to efficiently monitor the progress of each claim in the batch.
- Review Details: Make use of the detailed view provided in the claims popup to understand the nuances of each claim's status and history.
