Flags

Flags serve as a powerful feature to mark and categorize patients based on specific criteria such as care needs, administrative alerts, or eligibility status. Here's how to navigate and utilize flags within a patient's file.

Adding Flags

  1. Open the Patient's File: Start by selecting the patient you wish to flag in the Patients app.
  2. Locate the Flags Button: At the top of the patient's file, situated between the "Edit" and "Download" buttons, you'll find the "Flags" button. Clicking this button will reveal a menu of various flags to choose from, including "Outpatient," "Call," "Ineligible," and others.
  3. Select a Flag: Choose the appropriate flag based on the specific categorization or alert you wish to apply to the patient. Once selected, this flag will be added to the patient's profile.

Viewing and Searching for Flags

  • Visibility in Patient List: Flags assigned to patients are visible directly in the patients list, making it easy to identify at a glance which patients have been marked with specific flags.
  • Search Functionality: Flags can be used as search criteria within the patient list, enabling you to quickly filter and find patients based on the flags they've been assigned.
  • Data Integration: Flags are also saved within the data download, ensuring that flagged information is retained across patient records and reports.

Removing Flags

  • From the Patient's File: To remove a flag, return to the "Flags" button in the patient's file. At the bottom of the flags menu, you will see an option to "Remove Flag." Select this to unmark the patient.
  • Directly from the Patient List: You can also remove a flag directly from the patients list by clicking on the flag icon next to a patient's name. You'll be prompted to confirm whether you want to delete the flag.

Automatic Flagging with Eligibility Checks

  • Eligibility Flags: When eligibility checks are run through Popularis, the system will automatically assign an "Eligible" or "Ineligible" flag based on the outcome. This automates part of the flagging process, directly linking a patient's insurance eligibility status to their profile.

Understanding Flag Meanings

  • Hover to Reveal: To quickly understand what a specific flag represents, you can hover your cursor over the flag icon in the patient list. A tooltip will appear, displaying the flag's name and providing immediate context.
