Adding Patients
In Popularis, there are several methods to add patients, including allowing patients to input their own information via clinics.
Methods for Adding Patients:
Single Patient Add: In the Patients app, look for the “Add Patient” button next to the column where patients are listed. This will open a menu to add a single patient. Minimum requirements are name, date of birth (DOB), and gender. An option to check eligibility will be present only if insurance information is available.
Batch Patient Upload: Upload up to 1,000 patients at a time and, similarly to the single upload, you can run eligibility checks. To batch upload, press the up arrow icon located to the right of the 'Add Patient' button. Download the template for the data. Instructions can be found in the file under the ‘instructions’ workbook. Ensure that payers in the spreadsheet match those in Payer Matching. If unsure, visit Payer Matching. Upload the template, complete validation, and select if you want to run Eligibility.
Patient Intake Form: Patients can enter their own data on intake forms created in Clinics. See more on Clinics here. This data can be viewed separately by selecting a relevant clinic. Patients who take a photo of their ID card will have that card uploaded to their Files folder in their patient's file.
Quick Add from Home: On the homepage, there is a quick add patient button on the bottom right. It is exactly the same as the single patient add.
Batch Claim Submission: When submitting batch claims, the system attempts to find a patient with the matching name, DOB, gender, and member ID. If not found, it creates a new patient with the data and adds the claims information.
